El Frente and all affiliated organizations call for the dismantling of the corrupt government in Puerto Rico and the start of the decolonization process in the island.
We continue to ask all interested parties, partner organizations and countries in solidarity to join us as we call on the United Nations to invoke United Nations Resolution 1514(XV) and initiate the self-determination decolonization process to achieve Puerto Rican Independence!

ON SEPT 21, 2019 WE MARCHED FOR PR INDEPENDENCE
151 Years after El Grito de Lares, We Marched Again.
September 23, 1868 marks the date when Dr. Ramon Emeterio Betances and Segundo Ruiz Belvis organized a revolt and declared independence from Spain. Although short lived, El Grito de Lares stands as a symbol for Puerto Rican liberation against colonial rule.
151 years later, Spain has been supplanted by the United States, but our struggle remains. Fighting for our liberation and freedom from colonial rule is still at the heart of everyday Puerto Rican life.
On September 21, we marched to honor those who marched 151 years ago; we marched to express our current plight; we marched to show the world 200 reasons why independence is necessary and just; we marched to demand our independence.
Marching with us on this historic event were the former Puerto Rican political prisoners, artists, poets, musicians, Puerto Ricans from all walks of life, and organizations from the United States and other countries who are in solidarity with our struggle.
